How To Request Deletion
Removing this app from the account it is connected to is the request. On Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, open the account settings on that platform, find this app in the list of apps and websites with access, and remove it. The platform tells this instance directly, and the removal is carried out here without anyone reading the message by hand.
The platform shows a confirmation code when it passes the request on. Keep it and enter it above to see what was removed and when. The receipt stays reachable afterwards, so the code keeps answering once the data itself is gone.
Removing the app also ends this instance's access straight away, whether or not deletion is requested alongside it. Nothing further can be published to that account from here.
Writing to privacy@jaydigital.us works as well, and reaches the person who runs this instance rather than an automated process.
What Deletion Removes
Outpost is a private posting relay. It connects to social accounts and publishes content through them. A deletion request removes the connected account record and everything stored against it.
- The connected account record: the platform account identifier, display name, handle, avatar image link, and granted permissions.
- The access and refresh tokens for that account, which are encrypted at rest and are destroyed with the record.
- The delivery records for that account: which content went to it, the resulting post identifiers, and the links back to those posts.
- Messages in the operator dashboard that name the account, such as the note written when the account was connected and the prompt written when its connection stopped working.
What stays is the operator's own material: the text they wrote, the media they attached, and the times they scheduled. None of it names the connected account.
A receipt stays as well, so this page can answer afterwards: the confirmation code, the platform name, internal record identifiers that now point at nothing, and the times the request arrived and finished. It holds no name, handle, token, or platform account identifier.
Posts already published on the platform itself are outside this instance. Only the platform can remove those, from the account settings there.
